Acorns are edible and indelible. Check out this naturally, fashionably great workshop taught by the amazing Maggie Ruth Haaland…
Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the Elliot School: was an introduction into the world of natural dyeing and local color! Rooting into the energy of late Fall and useing acorns and oak leaves harvested from the Eliot schoolyard to coax color onto cloth. We learned basics of natural dyeing, including making a dye bath, the mordanting process, and eco-printing with leaves, and getting to know more about the mighty oaks growing just outside the door. Participants also had the chance to play around with acorn ink on paper. Beginners and intermediate dyers were welcome. Class taught by the honorable herbalist Maggie Ruth Haaland
